ARTIST | FOUNDER OF CULTURAL INITIATIVES

Born in Brasov in 1991, he made his international debut in 2011 at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall with Beethoven’s No. 5 “Imperial” concert. On December 5, 2018, he sang for the first time with the orchestra at the Konzerthaus Vienna performing Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin.

He started studying piano at the age of 6 with teacher Viorica Burcica and then with teacher Francisca Lupu at the Brasov Art High School. In 2010 he entered the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna where he worked under the guidance of Martin Hughes and then with Stefan Arnold. As a solo pianist or in chamber ensembles he has won over 25 first prizes at international competitions.

In recent years, Dragos has set out to support high potential artists and art among musicians of his age, founding Aegeria Artists Management in Vienna and Transylvanian International Piano Competition in Brasov which has brought to Brasov so far 100 pianists from all over the world. In 2019, together with the pianist Horia Mihail, he co-founded the TAMTAM Festival in Brasov, during which over 400 artists performed in three days, on the 7 outdoor stages, in over 100 events. Starting with March 2020, the two launched #ScenaVirtualaTAMTAM.
